For grown-ups
Elthie's corner is for children aged 6 to 10: cat care and gentle games, in English.
What this corner does not do
- No analytics, advertising or tracking.
- No cookies, and the games save nothing on the device.
- No accounts, forms or messages. Children cannot type anything in.
- No YouTube players and no links to social networks in the children's pages.
Our hosting provider, Firebase Hosting (Google), may keep technical logs, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site. See the privacy page.
The rest of this site is for adults
The main site has jokes for adults, links to social networks and videos, and optional analytics if you accept them. The only link from this corner to the main site is below, on this page.
Where the cat advice comes from
Cat Signals is based on advice from animal welfare organisations. It is general information, not veterinary advice. If you are worried about a cat, talk to a vet.
- PDSA: Cat communication, how do I know if my cat is happy?
- RSPCA: What does my cat's body language mean?
- Connecticut Humane Society: Cats and Children
- Cats Protection: Teach your child to care for your cat
Things to print
The print page has a Cat Signals poster, colouring pages and a box to make. The box needs scissors and glue, so please help with it.
Helping children around cats
Stay nearby when young children are with a cat. Even kind children can startle a cat. Give the cat places to rest out of reach, and keep its food, water and litter tray away from small children.
